Affiliate Disclosure

Affiliate commission covers the cost of running these pages. Readers pay nothing: no subscription, no account, no upsell appears anywhere on the site. Articles about genuinely free places, from the lower terraces at Fisherman's Bastion to Heroes' Square and City Park, stay open to everyone.

How This Site Earns Its Keep

Commission from the walks is the only money these pages make. When a visitor clicks a link here and reserves a free spot on a guide's GuruWalk page or on a freetour.com walk, the platform pays this site a commission. The walker pays nothing extra: free, pay what you want is the price of every walk in this directory.

No income arrives from anywhere else. Guides do not pay to appear, and positions are not sold. A walk is here because it is listed on GuruWalk or freetour.com, where a visitor can reserve a place, and no other platform receives a link from this site.

Reading these pages costs nothing, and reserving a walk costs nothing either. A booking is simply a free place claimed on the walk's own page at GuruWalk or freetour.com, where every walk works the same way: join for free, pay what you want at the end. The commission moves from the platform to this site and never from the walker, so it never appears as a charge on the visitor's side.

What This Site Sells, And What It Does Not

This site operates no tour. It employs no guides, sells no tickets and takes no money from any walker. Every walk belongs to an independent local guide listed on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and a reserved spot costs nothing: pay what you want is the price, decided by the walker at the end. When a reservation follows a link here, the platform may pay this site a commission for the referral. The walk itself costs the same however the visitor finds it.

Placement in this directory is not for sale. Every walk is here because it is listed on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and no operator has handed over money for where it appears.

What Money Cannot Buy Here

What This Site Does Not Sell

GuruWalk and freetour.com rate walks on different scales, and this site never mixes them. A GuruWalk walk prints its score out of 5, a freetour.com walk prints its score out of 10, and each figure carries its own scale beside it. Review counts come from the platforms' own pages, not from anything measured here.

Reservations happen on GuruWalk or freetour.com, never on this site. The same free spot can be claimed by going straight to either platform, with or without these pages in between. Budapest is unchanged either way: the Parliament exterior and Kossuth Square are free to walk, and so are the Citadella park and the Liberty Statue, whoever writes about them.

Budapest Without This Site

The commercial side of this site is small and easy to state. It carries affiliate links to GuruWalk and freetour.com, and a reservation made through one of them may earn it a commission. That is the entire arrangement: no walking tour is operated here, no guide is employed, no ticket is sold. The 45 free walks described across these pages belong to independent guides on those two platforms, and every free-entry fact stands whether a link is clicked or not.

An email address is the contact route for anything on this site. If a fact looks off, or a walk's details have shifted on GuruWalk or freetour.com, a message gets the page corrected. The affiliate disclosure also sits in the footer of every page, so nobody has to search for it.
